Hello everyone! Monday I posted the third broadcast of my podcast turned radio show Schlyde into Sports on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music. I am still workshopping the YouTube since I am using mp3 files instead of mp4 files, so sound files instead of video files. I went to a networking event on Wednesday helping promote Good Day NWI. The event was at a speaking convention held by Congressman Frank Mrvan. We also went to a broadcast held by Jeff Releford for his show Redirect, Regroup, Refocus Podcast, where Becky Meteja and J.J. Weinberg were guests, and I tagged along to learn more about Jeffs production and took behind the scenes pictures for Becky, JJ, and Jeff to help them do promotions.
Then yesterday I went in for hip surgery because I had a torn labrum which resulted in an impingement. This is something that I have been dealing with since mid-February, tried going to the chiropractor with physical therapy and that helped temporarily. I then tried to let it recover on its own since I thought this issue was a different issue, not an impingement, so even though I stopped intense workouts the injury actually got worse. I then went to a dr. and got an x-ray, learning that it was a possible impingement, and was able to get an mri a few weeks later to confirm that. Then another few weeks later, which is now yesterday, I finally got the surgery. I am going to be in crutches the first few weeks of recovery, and will have to wear a brace for longer.
On the bright side though, the work I have been doing for WVLP has been from home, so I do not have to worry about driving everywhere, which I actually cannot drive for a little while anyways due to the surgery. But, I will be able to have my full attention to college football to provide good content for the next radio broadcast on Labor Day. There is not a lot of people that I was talking about when it comes to the surgery, I normally don't say a lot about stuff like that beforehand to a lot of people, but it went well and I think I should recover quickly. Or at least that is the hope and goal.
If anyone has any tips for how to manage recovery for surgeries, I would love to hear any tips or experiences that you have! If you do not have my contact information, you can find it in the the contact section of the website.
Thank you and I hope everyone enjoys watching week 1 of college football games as well as the Great Lee Corso's last episode on College Game Day!
